Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Japan's medical affairs strategy for assigned products and therapeutic areas in collaboration with MASL.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key thought leaders, patient advocacy groups, and institutions to support scientific and medical exchange.

  • Lead lifecycle strategies, including evidence generation and Phase 3b/4 study execution.

  • Collaborate with commercial and marketing teams, providing medical expertise for product launches and campaigns.

  • Support the field medical team with materials to address healthcare provider questions.

  • Oversee Investigator Sponsored Trials, including protocol reviews and safety assessments.

  • Partner with the MSL manager for training and education initiatives.

  • Develop and adapt medical information documents and materials for Japan.

  • Prepare and review scientific publications, abstracts, and presentations.

  • Participate in the development and execution of the global publications plan.

  • Guide strategies that demonstrate product value, focusing on payer and clinical decision-maker outcomes.

  • Review promotional, market access, and HEOR materials to ensure compliance and accuracy.

  • Maintain expert knowledge of relevant disease areas and regulatory matters.

  • Represent the medical affairs team in cross-functional groups.

  • Lead Japan alliance partnerships and contribute to functional charters.

  • Provide oversight for interventional and observational clinical trials led by medical affairs.

  • Assess and supervise Investigator Initiated Studies.

Experience & Skills:

  • Doctoral degree (Life Science or Clinical preferred).

  • 3-5 years of Medical Affairs or Clinical R&D experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience in clinical trial design and oncology trials is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of compliance and local legal/regulatory guidelines.

  • Proven ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

  • Business-level English and native-level Japanese (spoken, written, and reading).

  • Valid Japan residency.

  • Willingness to travel (mostly domestic, some international).
