Position Summary:
The Director of Rooms is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Rooms Division, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Concierge, and Guest Services, ensuring the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in luxury hospitality, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for creating memorable experiences for our guests. This position is critical in maintaining the luxury reputation of the hotel while driving operational excellence, maximizing revenue, and leading a dynamic team in a fast-paced and vibrant environment near the iconic Disneyland Tokyo.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Staff Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage all Rooms Division team members, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Concierge, and Guest Services departments.
Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team dedicated to delivering outstanding service.
Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment through communication, motivation, and professional development.
Implement and maintain departmental performance standards, ensuring adherence to luxury hospitality service excellence.
Guest Experience & Satisfaction:
Maintain a focus on guest experience, ensuring that all rooms and service areas meet the hotel’s luxury standards.
Oversee guest arrivals, departures, and requests, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience.
Address and resolve guest concerns in a prompt, professional manner, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
Collaborate with other hotel departments to enhance guest services and improve overall satisfaction.
Operations & Revenue Management:
Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the Rooms Division by managing room inventory, room assignments, and the room status system.
Monitor and analyze daily performance metrics to optimize operational efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement.
Work closely with Revenue Management to maximize room revenue through dynamic pricing strategies, upselling, and package promotions.
Collaborate with other departments to optimize operational costs while maintaining service standards.
Budgeting & Financial Management:
Assist in the creation and management of the Rooms Division budget, ensuring cost control and profitability.
Monitor and analyze departmental financial performance, identifying opportunities to reduce costs and increase revenue.
Ensure all rooms-related operational activities are aligned with the hotel’s financial goals and objectives.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, procedures, safety regulations, and brand standards.
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and maintenance.
Monitor guest feedback and review service quality metrics to identify areas for continuous improvement.
Collaboration & Cross-Departmental Coordination:
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Food & Beverage departments to coordinate promotional efforts, special events, and guest experiences.
Participate in departmental meetings, contributing to the overall hotel strategy and service delivery.
Represent the Rooms Division in daily and weekly operational meetings with senior management.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior Rooms Division role within a luxury hotel environment, preferably in a high-end property near a major attraction (e.g., Disneyland or similar).
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage a diverse team in a luxury hotel setting.
Language Skills: Fluency in English and Japanese is highly desirable. Additional language skills are a plus.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS), Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant software. Experience with revenue management systems is a plus.
Cultural Awareness: Strong understanding of Japanese hospitality culture and international luxury standards.
Financial Acumen: Strong analytical and financial management skills with the ability to work with budgets, financial reports, and performance metrics.
Problem-Solving: Excellent decision-making, conflict resolution, and customer service skills.
